iPhone craziness

So this all started Sunday.

I dropped my iPhone and the screen stopped working. Bummer right?
Well then I started thinking, if apple gives me a brand new one, I can sell that one online for more than the price of the new 16GB 3GS model with the 2 year upgrade which would be $199.

So they gave me a new iPhone luckily and I started doing research. Turns out that the early upgrade fee of $18 is not what I thought. After talking with an at&t rep over the phone, I learned that if I do an early upgrade with at&t, the 16GB 3GS model is $299 + a $75 early upgrade fee. So that was a bummer, but I could probably still get $375 for my iphone seeing as they are still retailing at $500.

So I went ahead and listed my iPhone on craigslist and eBay.

Then I saw a news article about at&t allowing some users to be immediately eligible for the 2 year upgrade if blah blah blah... I wasn't going to be eligible for that, but right below the article it said "Or do an early upgrade and get the 16GB 3GS for $399" . $399??! She said $299!!

Great. Now my iPhone is going to sell cheap and I am going to have to pony up $475 to get a new one.

So I called back again, frustrated, and talked to another at&t rep who seemed less knowledgeable than the first one. He apologized about the mix up and confirmed it would be $399. However, after being on hold forever, he told me the early upgrade fee is only $18, not $75. What was the first woman I talked to on??

So as it stands, I need my current iPhone to sell for about $425 for me to be in the clear like I originally thought I was.

Anyone want an iPhone?

Daily and Vincent Shoot

This past Wednesday I had the privilege to work on my first Country music video here in Nashville! My good friend Julian Smith was directing and shooting this video and he asked me if I could come out and help. The cool part about this video was the we shot it in Northstar Studios in Nashville. The people over there are fantastic and were more than willing to help us out with whatever we needed.

I got to drive a big ole lift around and rig 2k's all over the ceiling which, I have to admit, I was a little nervous about seeing as this was my first serious rigging job I had done in almost a year. But it was a blast, everything came back to me and we got the sound stage lit up fairly quickly.

Here is Julian, sitting down on the job.

This was the lighting board that Julian and I sat down and figured out how to use just days prior to the shoot.

Over all I think the shoot went pretty well. I got to be everything from a lighting director to the dolly grip. Josh Lovell, Josh Taylor, Andy Merrick, and Chelsea Crawford also were big helps.

I am currently editing the video so here is a sweet little screenshot.

God just blew my mind...as always

So tonight I was feeling a little down in the dumps and so I was praying a little half hearted prayer, but not really expecting God to do anything about it any time soon. Then I decided to start back up on my journey through the new testament in 40 days(now approaching day 70 something..and im in Luke).

Anyways, boom. Luke 18:1-8 " 1Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. 2He said: "In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men. 3And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, 'Grant me justice against my adversary.'

4"For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, 'Even though I don't fear God or care about men, 5yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won't eventually wear me out with her coming!' "

6And the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?"

I don't usually do this...blog or talk about my personal spiritual life to the whole world(or the 3 people that read this occasionally), but I was just so encouraged by this that I had to share.

Keep praying, don't give up.

A 2 week review...with pictures.

So I haven't written a blog in a while. Mainly because I don't have time. So here is a brief picture blog of things that have been going on in my life...lets start with the most important:

So I get a letter in the mail...open it to see...PUUPPIIIEESSS!!!Then I open it and it is the cruelest joke ever...its a form to apply for a mortage...who does that? Then I went to the Invisible Children event called The Rescue.
It was a fun night...we got rescued by some representatives of some important politicians. Lame.
Chelsea and I attempted to sleep outside....I don't know what that girl was doing in this picture...maybe dancing?

Anyways...there was a drunk knife fight attempt in the same parking lot...so we left.
Then I went to the main street festival. It was hot. And crowded. And I ate a funnel Cake.
Then I went to D1...at 6am like usual..and played ultimate football as usual...

And got a grade 2 ankle sprain and tore some ligaments.
So...that was a quick update. Nothing exciting, nothing insightful, nothing profound. Doesn't mean that sort of thing isn't happening in my life, I just don't feel like writing right now.

The End.

My Incredibly Short Trip to LA

Hey people who read my blog...all 3 of you...I went to LA this past weekend.

My friend Julian Smith was shooting a music video and the producer was kind enough to fly me out to help. I got in Saturday mid morning and Julian and I drove around LA to let me be a tourist.

We went to in and out burger...of course.

Went back to Will's(the really cool guy I stayed with) place and then he took us out for dinner and time crisis.

Sunday was the music video day:

I basically set up all the dolly track and myself and a couple others set up all the lights. I also shot some BTS footage and various other things. It was cold and we didn't get done til real late, but it was a blast. Woke up and flew home the next day! So all in all it was a good trip. I wish I had gotten to stay a little longer to get a feel for LA, but that will have to happen another time.

Shine Under Music Video

So this past Saturday I directed a music video for a band called Shine Under. I have to say even though I was a little sick, and it was a 20 hour shoot, it was one of the most fun shoots I have ever done. The guys in the band were great sports about everything, whether they were being thrown down stairs multiple times or forced to perform their song outside in T-shirts in the 20 degree weather. I would work with these guys again in a heart beat and I hope that this video will help their careers as much as possible.

Their managers, Thomas and Tony from Toga Entertainment were also amazing. Thank you guys so much for all the hard work, time, and money you guys put into this!

And last but not least, a HUGE thanks to all my friends who came out and helped me!
Julian, I can't even say how much you helped me out man.
Jeff, thanks for coming out to help! I probably would have had a melt down if you hadn't come around that time.
Leslie, you brought me a smoothie, one of the few things I ate that day, and you stayed til the very end to make sure I didn't die and that was too kind. I owe you big time.
Jordan, thanks for coming and hanging out in the freezing cold. Apparently you saved my life, I'm sorry I was so delirious that I don't remember it all. It was fun.
Ryan, thanks for being there most of the day and for shooting some behind the scenes stuff.
And Felicia for coming out and taking these awesome photos!!

And just because I am feeling super nice...I will let you see a couple screen shots as long as you PROMISE to keep in mind that they are very rough, un-color corrected, and look way better when seen in context of the shot.

Stayed tuned for a short behind the scenes video and more updates as the edit comes together!

So working full time...8-5...is not exactly fun.  I was really enjoying my whole "wake up whenever and maybe I will get some work today" lifestyle.  I guess I should have known it wouldn't last.  But now im working out at 6am 3-4 days a week, which means I'm asleep by 10 almost every night, which means 0 social life.  Maybe thats why I'm writing a blog, so I can pretend I have a social life.  Maybe its because Tyler told me to write about my life.  Maybe its because I secretly enjoy writing and hope to one day be good at it...but thats probably not even true.

I think I am supposed to post a cool picture with all of my blog entries...right?  hold on let me find something...

This is me graduating college when I was 19.
That is crazy.
I don't even feel old enough to have started college.
Let alone be done with it.
ramble ramble ramble...
Thats all I've got.
